A survey conducted in 1996 revealed that 43% of Israeli residents believed in the phenomenon of UFOs originating from outside the earth.Indeed, the 90s of the 20th century were characterized by a mass panic that gave rise to dozens of reports every week of UFOs sighted from Eilat to Metula. These reports were presented without reservation in the media channels and they strengthened the belief in their veracity.

The book is dedicated to these years and it examines the phenomenon of UFOs through an amazing story told by a science student who went to reserve service in the Negev. During his service he encountered a UFO that left its deep imprint on him and despite his knowledge of astronomy, which is presented in the book, he could not find a scientific explanation for it.

The author is a professor (emeritus) of atmospheric physics and planetary astronomy, who even suggested to the Minister of Science, as early as 1996, to establish a committee to gather the multitude of messages received from citizens. Indeed, in the last year (2022) the issue of UFOs returned to the forefront and the United States Congress decided to establish a committee that will gather all reported observations.
